I am LaDonna Whittingham, I am a child of God, a wardrobe stylist, and creative director of FlyGirlsUnite. About 3 years ago, i was working in corporate america for about 8 years, it was my first "real" job. I was pretty successful in my many roles, as i continued to climb the corporate ladder. Towards the later end of my time in the corpoatre world, i began despising my postion. I felt unfulfilled and what was brought to my attention later, i was lost. God was calling me into a higher place, and better position. But i didnt realize that was happening, it just felt like everything was going wrong. I wasnt sure of what was happening because i was far from God, i didnt know him, i didnt understand his communcation. But where i am now, i know it was nothing but GOD!

Shortly after being released from the coporate world, I was being called out of alot of things i identified with. I lost my job of eight years, my relationship, the new home, my car, and my health. I began to loose all of these things slowly but surely, untill i was left with nothing to identify with. I was completely lost, and had no identity of self. From the outside in, it looked like i was wasting away.. and surely thats what i felt like. But, what was happening, is that God was stripping me from everything i identified with, because none of those things were GOD.

-"With out GOD everything is impossible, but with GOD all things are possible."-

I became very ill and decided to leave to go visit my grandmother in Jamaica. Though i never made it there, i ended up staying in Miami for three weeks with my family who nursed me back to health.While i was there, i met God. He sent me to Miami to be noursihed so that he can show me who i really am and who he was in my life. Coming back to California, everything was upside down, but God was leading me out onto the road of recovering. He guided me out of darkness into his glorious light. Being unemployed with lots of responsibilities was hard to swallow, but my mother encouraged me to get back to the basics. Ive always been the creative type. She suggested i make jewelry for extra income, and i did. I created a brand called FashionDoll, which lead me to reuniting in friendships. I began modeling again, and styling with celebrity stylist as well as artist.This new found glory of design, and self expression was creating a whole new path that was just a dream for me.

The Lord had a heavy hand on me, and was taking me into new realms of fashion and entertainment. Rekindling and making new friendships, inspired me, to call our group of friends , FlyGirlsUnite. We were all different girls yet one in the same, all on a road to discovery seeking and supporting each other in our dreams. This was just the begining of what was to come. Since then FlyGirlsUnite has emerged into a blog, movement, and event group encompassed with a variety of women from all walks of life coming together with common interests.

Who am I? I am a child of the most high, fearfully and wonderfully made. When the world seem like its against you, or you hate you job, or you feel like time is wasting and you dont know what do. I encourage you to open yourself to your Heavenly father and embrace the love he has for you, for he will guide you into a place beyond what you can ever ask for. He did it for me, and He is waiting to do it just for you.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity."- Jeremiah 29:11,
